Frequently Asked Questions

INTERNAL NOTE — NOT WEBSITE COPY

Section 23 adds or revises seven questions but refers to other existing FAQs without reproducing them. Those unavailable answers have not been invented. The required first question and exact contractual sentence are recovered from the original project brief.

What is BEST's relationship with SBI?

SBI BioEnergy owns Gölu-H2, the ethanol-to-hydrogen conversion technology incorporated within HyEn+ and related architectures.

BEST develops broader applications, systems and commercial structures around that technology.

BEST holds contractual protection over the SBI-related opportunities it originates or develops.

This answer combines v1.1 section 21 copy with the exact required sentence in the earlier project brief; the original full FAQ answer is unavailable. Confirm SBI-related commercial claims before publication.

What is EHMPP?

EHMPP stands for Ethanol Hydrogen Mobile Power Platform.

It is a BEST development platform intended to combine ethanol-to-hydrogen conversion with solid oxide fuel cells to provide sustained electrical generation at locations where dependable grid power is unavailable or insufficient.

It is designed as relocatable infrastructure rather than a generator intended to move every day.

Why transport ethanol instead of hydrogen?

EHMPP is designed around transporting ethanol to the point of use and producing hydrogen there as it is needed.

This can reduce dependence on transporting and storing compressed hydrogen and takes advantage of the logistics associated with a transportable liquid fuel.

Final fuel logistics depend upon the project and deployment location.

How much power could EHMPP produce?

Current development planning considers approximately:

  • 250 kg/day hydrogen configurations corresponding to roughly 200 kW-class continuous electrical generation
  • 500 kg/day configurations corresponding to roughly 400 kW-class generation

A full approximately 1,250 kg/day architecture corresponds conceptually to approximately 1 MW-class generation.

These are planning-scale estimates rather than guaranteed equipment specifications.

Does EHMPP include batteries?

Not necessarily.

EHMPP is fundamentally a fuel-production and generation architecture.

Electrical storage should only be described as part of a configuration where battery or other storage equipment has actually been incorporated.

Is EHMPP water self-sufficient?

That should not presently be claimed.

Fuel-cell operation and other portions of the system may produce recoverable water, and recycling opportunities may exist.

Whether that creates partial or complete water balance requires final system engineering and a validated mass balance.

Is BEST developing sustainable aviation fuel?

Yes.

BEST and SBI are actively developing a pathway to produce sustainable aviation fuel from municipal-solid-waste-derived materials or feedstocks.

The chemistry and underlying conversion pathways are established.

Current development work is focused on feedstock preparation, process optimization, operating requirements, repeatability and achieving consistent commercial-grade fuel output.

Does HyEn+ produce sustainable aviation fuel?

Not by itself.

HyEn+ is BEST's distributed-energy platform built around ethanol-to-hydrogen conversion.

The sustainable aviation fuel program is a separate BEST/SBI development pathway involving municipal-waste-derived feedstocks.

The programs are related through BEST's broader energy-development strategy but should not be presented as the same technology.
